To request a repeat prescription

- Complete the right-hand section of your previous prescription form. Leave it with the surgery or send it to us by post
Repeat prescriptions will be ready for collection 48 working hours after ordering.
You can ask us to arrange for your prescription to be collected by the chemist of your choice. If you request this service, your prescription will be ready for collection from the chemist.
Patients who receive regular prescriptions will sometimes be asked to see a doctor or practice nurse before their next repeat prescription is due. This is so that your medication can be assessed and altered as necessary.
Your doctor or nurse will try to find the best way of making you better. You may not always be given medicine, as there are many other ways to treat you. Please do not expect a prescription on every visit.
- Prescription requests are not taken over the telephone to avoid errors and for legal reasons.
- To avoid prescription errors please do not ask the receptionists to complete prescription request forms.
- Allow 48 hours for repeat prescriptions to be processed. Extra time is needed for prescriptions requested late Friday afternoons and just before or after public holidays.
- Repeat prescriptions can be requested by post if a stamped addressed envelope is enclosed with the request. Allow at least one week for postal repeat prescription requests.
- Housebound patients can arrange with local pharmacies to request and deliver medications
