Travel vaccines

At The Croft Surgery we only  provide the free travel vaccines available on the NHS. Please ask at the surgery for a Travel Vaccination Form; this will have your vaccination history on it and tell you about the vaccinations that are given here.

Please then seek advice about the vaccinations recommended for your travelling. If you require other vaccinations you will need to make arrangements elsewhere; these are often available at pharmacies.

If you would like us to give you the free NHS vaccinations, please contact the practice and book the next available appointment with a practice nurse. If the next available appointment is not soon enough for your travel needs then you will need to pay for the injections at another provider.

Many courses of vaccines need to be started several months before travel so please allow plenty of time prior to travel to complete vaccination courses.

Please see the NHS website for further information.

Well Person Health Checks

It is sensible to have a general health check every 5 years once you reach 40 years of age. We may contact you to invite you.  Please book with the practice nurses for these and bring a specimen of urine (bottles can be collected from reception). These checks may pick up undiagnosed conditions such as diabetes, high cholesterol and hypertension and are helpful in managing the risk of developing these diseases. We recommend that all patients over the age of 40 have a blood pressure check at least every 5 years.
